I see the Naturalist II and other earlier models on ebay regularly, but it is hard to tell anything about the quality of the optics. I am not a big porro fan, although I have several good ones as house/feeder bins, as well as the 7x35 E that I am just kind of sitting on.Īfter reading Henrys review of the OP's Nikons, from his description they seemed like they might be better than the E's. I guess I was a little disappointed in them as while the centerfield resolution was outstanding, the sweetspot was not overly large and the edges seemed somewhat poor. favorite this post Oct 3 Vortex Viper HD Binoculars 425 (pdx > Lake Oswego clackamas county ) pic hide this posting restore restore this posting. #NIKON 8X30 8.3 WF VINTAGE SERIES#
What’s interesting, although the predecessors featured a wide field of view, the EII series instruments got even a bigger one. Bought em off an ebay seller from Texas who sold about 8 pairs of the E's ($200-$210)and a couple of the Gold Sentinels(?) ($350).I got lucky and saw them when they were first listed and they didn't last long. In their case the production of the 8x30 and 10x35 models was continued and the7x35 model was dropped. About 5 months ago I bought 5 boxed pairs of new old stock Nikon E's - (3) 7x35, (1) 8x30 & (1) 10x35 - all the later coated models with the slanted Nikon logo.
